Our Mission

Frog Academy is unique.  We grow the future, and we do it well.  We believe in the magic that happens when children play.  This is how they learn, and this is how we teach.  We believe we are different.  We provide warmth, security, and an environment that fosters discovery and exploration.  Our students discover their talents that make them leaders.  We use The Creative Curriculum, building strong pre-kindergarten literacy, science and math skills that get them ready for kindergarten.  We strive to provide a healthy and nurturing atmosphere that will foster each child’s feeling of autonomy and positive self image.

Heather Easterlin

Heather Easterlin

Director / SC Teacher

A true nomad, Heather Easterlin was born in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, and has lived in 9 states since! She is the daughter of a US Naval Master Chief, and is a Veteran of the US Air Force herself. Heather received her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and has been an educator for over 14 years. She was awarded the honor, Teacher of the Year, in Berkeley County before she opened Frog Academy. She is incredibly proud of her grown daughters, Melanie and Piper, and loves being a grandma! Heather and her husband, Joey, own two businesses, love traveling together, and adore their Yorkshire Terrier, Lemmy. Ms. Easterlin is passionate about working with children, helping other teachers become comfortable and confident in the classroom, and thinks the best part is the unconditional love and honesty of the kiddos!

Melanie Tipton

Assistant Director / SC Teacher

Wanna race!? Before she became Frog Academy’s Co-Director, Melanie Tipton was a first place track star that ran the fastest mile, and low hurdles. She was a volleyball player, and enthusiast of sugar skull art. Melanie graduated Cum Laude from Charleston Southern University with a degree in Early Childhood Education, and taught 3rd grade until opening Frog Academy. She and her husband, Matthew, have two children, Lucy and Marshall, and two cats, Freya and Ellie. Melanie loves traveling, trying new restaurants, amusement parks and Sea World. She thinks the most interesting thing about herself, is that she can stick her tongue out, and up into her nose! Go ahead, try it! For Melanie, the best part about working in education is using her creativity to write lesson plans that the kids love, and hearing the funny things children say!

Say “Cheese!” Not only is Jennifer Oltmann a professional photographer, she is Frog Academy's Instructional Coach and Human Resource Staffing Coordinator. She graduated Cum Laude from Charleston Southern University with a degree in Elementary Education. Jennifer is a former volleyball player, Homecoming Queen, and Valedictorian! Jennifer is a Potterhead (loves Harry Potter), and is a super fan of the Marvel super heroes. She enjoys traveling to the mountains, and reading books, to relax. Ms. Oltmann’s favorite part about working with children is watching their personalities develop, witnessing the learning coming alive, and all of the love children have!

Ashley Bazemore

4K Teacher

This beautiful woman is Frog Academy’s Teacher of the Year for 2021, Ashley Bazemore. Ms. Bazemore is a gardening fanatic and was integral in the development of our children’s garden on the playground! She is a born and raised Charlestonian. She, and Cameron, have two precious daughters, Riley 6 and Layne 2. Both were named after Beatles’ songs! Ashley is a supporter of the Charleston Animal Society, and has 1 dog, 2 cats, and a turtle at home. She has enthusiasm for anything she can do outside such as, gardening, water color painting, and being at Folly Beach. Did I mention that she has been practicing her skateboarding skills!? Ms. Bazemore has been a teacher for over 10 years, and is a student again, focusing on child development. She said her favorite part about working in childcare is the sense of purpose it gives her, bonding with the children, and watching them grow mentally and physically.

Receptionist and Support Staff

This College of Charleston Psych Major is our receptionist, floater, and all around get-things-done girl, Piper Frith. Before graduating from Cane Bay High School, she enjoyed running track, playing volleyball, and singing on stage! Now, she and her boyfriend, Grayson, enjoy traveling to Colorado, Nevada, North Carolina, and Tennessee. They have one cat, Ccino, that is 12 years old! If Piper isn’t spending time with her niece, Lucy, then she likes to read books, catch up on Survivor episodes, and clean! Ms. Frith says that her favorite part about working in childcare is uplifting the staff, talking with parents, and being an inspiring influence on the children.

Meet Lyddia Jackson! She is one of our 3K teachers. She is originally from Panama City, Florida, but has been a South Carolinian since she was 11 years old. She, and her husband Samuel, volunteer at Seacoast Church on the Production Team and love traveling to the mountains. At home, she has two dogs, Elsa & Mylo, but her favorite little one at home is Weston, their 1 year old son! She doesn’t have a favorite sports team, but she is an award winning Longbow woman. Lyddia attended SouthEastern college, and while she claims it to be a hobby, is extremely skilled at photography. Ms. Jackson says that the best part of working in childcare is having a meaningful purpose, and being in the same place with Weston.

Our sweet 3K teacher, Mackenna Hader, is a New Yorker by birth and a true Yankee’s fan! She has also lived in Oklahoma, but proudly calls South Carolina home now! When she gets the chance, she loves traveling to Florida, and spending time with her family and nephew. At home, you’ll find her snuggled up with her two puppies, Charlie & Hartley. She is a “seize the day,” person, and one of our most creative lesson planners and decorators! Her creativeness shines through when she practices with hair and make up too. Cosmetology is her favorite hobby! Ms. Hader says that the best part about working in childcare is the bonds that she creates with the children, and watching them grow!

We are so blessed to have our 2 littles attend Frog Academy. The owners always continue to expand the center with creative ideas. They change what "daycare" means with technology centers, outside time, activities all day..new equipment..and so on. The teachers are amazing and you can see how they are carefully chosen to join the team. There are always smiles and laughs with the staff. The only complaint comes from my silly Orry. He didn't like the smell of the butterscotch and maple cream scent in the lobby. "What is that smell? It smells awful!" Everyone in the lobby laughed. Consider yourself blessed if your children get a spot at Frog Academy!

The best daycare in all the land. We love our daycare Frog Academy. Cilla spent 2 years here before elementary and Harry is going into his final year. This is not a babysitting service like other daycares we have experienced. They promote learning thru a structured syllabus and the staff are fantastic. Local family owned, we love Frog Academy..!

This preschool and daycare is the best in town. The staff are all well trained , great with children, loving and caring. My granddaughter attends and ALWAYS has a smile on her face when I see her there. She always has a clean diaper and looks very well taken care of. I would highly recommend this daycare to all my friends and already have. The location is fantastic too!

When my daughter's daycare closed right before Christmas in 2020 (she was 6 months old), FROG was great at accommodating my urgency to get her into a daycare ASAP. They were extremely friendly and informative and SAVED US! We were nervous when our only child first started daycare and all those nerves came back when she had to start a new school. Fortunately, those nerves were quickly eradicated by the professionalism and friendliness of the entire team at FROG. She's been there for almost a year now and they have become FAMILY! We love everyone and how well they take care of our girl. She's constantly learning new things, they update us throughout her day with Brightwheel, which is just continued assurance that she's well cared for at FROG. We couldn't have found a better Daycare and Preschool to send her to until she starts Kindergarten. I recommend ALL my friends who are pregnant or have newborns or small children to FROG. We've never had a bad experience or negativity with any of the team there and after speaking to several teachers, they all seem to enjoy working there and are well taken care of by the leadership team.

Absolutely AMAZING!!! I cannot say enough good things about this school. My son is in the 3k class and he has learned so much in the short amount of time attending. They are very structured but still include TONS of time for fun!! They play outside 3 times a day, weather permitting of course. We get updates throughout the day and pictures too!! Everyone there is so kind and always smiles on faces. My son is definitely tired out by the end of the day, but that's the point! Super flexible hours and fantastic teachers. Again.....AMAZING!!!
